Strapping

Strapping

What is purpose of taping?

The purpose of using traditional athletic tape (rigid tape) is to limit the range of motion for certain muscles and joints. This can help the body heal faster versus if the movement was not restricted. It can also serve as a splint for sprained joints, which helps the injury heal at a much faster rate as well.

At The Podiatry Experts we use a variety of taping techniques for:

  • · Plantar fasciitis
  • · Achilles tenonitis
  • · Hypermobility of ankles
  • · Ankle strains
  • · Knee pain (patella strapping)
  • · Osgood Schlatter’s Disease
  • · Severs Disease
